This group covers the non-Asian restaurants, cafes, bars and food businesses that also appear in a mixed-cuisine food scene, including American diners, pizza, Mexican food, burgers, steakhouses and bakeries. Standard US restaurant norms apply: lunch and dinner service with a quieter stretch between, cards and tap-to-pay accepted almost everywhere, and a tip of 15-20% customary for table service. Fast food and quick-service counters expect payment up front and tipping is optional. Bars check ID for anyone who looks under 30, and the drinking age is 21 nationwide. Many restaurants in this group take reservations online through third-party platforms, while casual and fast-food spots are walk-in only. Sales tax is added at the register on top of the menu price and varies by city and state, so the final total is usually a few percent higher than the posted prices suggest.
The business lists hours on 2 days of the week. The most common schedule is 12β10 PM. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. Bronx is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Bronx follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

We had a great experience overall. The restaurant itself is beautiful everything felt brand new, spotless, and well maintained. The decor was unique and a nice change from whatβs typically found in the area, creating a welcoming atmosphere. The service was excellent from start to finish, and the staff was attentive and friendly. For our meal, I ordered the chicken breast kabab with grilled vegetables, and my wife had the lamb shank. The food was flavorful, well seasoned, and cooked nicely. The standout dish, though, was the Afghan dumplings they were absolutely superb and easily the highlight of the meal. My only criticism is the value. While the food was good, the portions felt a bit small for the price we paid, so we left feeling like the meal didnβt quite justify the cost. That said, we really enjoyed our visit and would definitely come back especially for those incredible Afghan dumplings. If the portion sizes were a little more generous, this would easily be a 5-star experience.

Zaitoon is bringing the rich flavors of Afghanistan to the Bronx with homemade dishes, traditional recipes and a beautiful atmosphere that transports you straight to Central Asia. The crispy bolani and mantoos are an absolute must order. For the perfect introduction to Afghan cuisine, order the mixed platter featuring chicken tikka, lamb tikka, and beef kofta. The juicy lamb chops are another standout dish you wonβt want to skip. They also offer refreshing mocktails and even a matcha bar with three unique matcha options to choose from. Such a great addition to the neighborhood!

Wonderful Afghan meal, will definitely be back! We visited Zaitoon Kitchen yesterday with the family and had a fantastic experience. The staff was incredibly sweet and welcoming. They even gave us a complimentary mocktail on the house β such a nice touch! The food was delicious and portions were generous. We tried the kofta and the grilled tikka, both served with perfectly cooked brown rice, caramelised carrots, and raisinsβ absolutely delicious. The salad was refreshing, and the baklava was a perfect ending (great texture and sweetness). Highly recommend this spot for authentic Afghan flavors and a family-friendly atmosphere. Canβt wait to go back!
